Thank you for your interest in participating in the NumFOCUS' "Contributor Diversity and Retention" (CDR) research project!
NumFOCUS works closely with 90+ open-source scientific computing projects and we care deeply about finding ways to support our projects around building diverse, inclusive, and sustainable contributor communities.
Our team is conducting research funded by the Gordon & Betty Moore Foundation, focused on understanding the barriers and challenges that contributors from historically underrepresented groups face when engaging with open source project communities.
Hearing directly from contributors, developers and maintainers about their experiences will help us guide all of our projects and the broader open-source community to understand best practices for onboarding and retaining a diverse community of contributors.
Twenty NumFOCUS open source projects are supporting the research by reaching out to their communities to help us find contributors interested in participating in a short 30-min interview.
We are very excited to hear from new contributors, project developers & maintainers and as well as those that have contributed in the past.
